Meet Our Experts
Project Core Team
This core team is based in the Academic Center for Evidence-Based Practice at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA). The ISRN is linked to the UTHSCSA Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) housed in the Institute for the Integration of Medicine and Science (IIMS).
Robert A. Clark, MD, MACP, is the Assistant Vice President for Clinical Research and Director, Institute for Integration of Medicine and Science.
Kathleen R. Stevens, EdD, MS, RN, ANEF, FAAN, is Principal Investigator of the NIH-Funded ISRN.
Carrie Jo Braden, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the UT School of Nursing Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship and is the ISRN Research Methods Collaborator. She implements community outreach principles, aligns ISRN with other Clinical and Translational Science Award activities and opportunities, and collaborates with the PI in writing reports and disseminating information.
Julie Novak, DNSc, RN, CPNP, is Associate Dean for Practice and Engagement. She provides expert advice on engaging hospitals in ISRN membership and engaging practitioners in implementing projects across multiple sites.
Michael Parchman, MD, MPH, Collaborator, aligns the ISRN with the Clinical and Translational Science Award PBRN effort, provides expertise in the science of complex adaptive theory and research on the Steering Council, and collaborates on further funding.
William Sanns, AAS, BA, Epidemiology and Biostatistics IIMS Core-Information Technology Collaborator, directs design of the development of the electronic/Web-based infrastructure supporting the ISRN and network studies to ensure interoperability between Westat design and IIMS systems. He also assists in transferring the electronic/Web infrastructure into the IIMS system for maintaining and sustaining at the end of the grant.
